• Repository workflow:

• Runtime/security:
  • Sentry CLI runs on Node.js and was migrated away from Bun. Use node:*; never reintroduce Bun.*, bun:test, or bun CLI commands.

• Command architecture:
  • Commands import buildCommand from ../../lib/command.js, never directly from @stricli/core.

• Agent conversations:
  • Conversation IDs are organization-scoped, not organization/project-scoped, and never contain /.

  • No slash means organization auto-detection; one slash means explicit organization.
  • Multiple slashes or an empty side of the slash are malformed validation errors.
• Project creation:
  • Platform always attaches to project name using :. Space-separated name/platform syntax is invalid.
  • Correct signature is sentry project create [<org>/]<name>:<platform>....
  • A --dry-run preview never actually creates the team.
• List behavior:
  • All paginated lists use shared bidirectional cursor-stack behavior for -c next, -c prev, and -c first; "last" silently aliases "next".
  • Navigation hints use paginationHint(), not hand-built navParts.
  • Abstraction preference: buildOrgListCommand, then dispatchOrgScopedList, then manual buildListCommand.
  • buildListCommand() always injects --fresh unless command-defined.
  • Its first positional is always an org/project-pattern target, enabling subcommand interception.
  • Never pass per_page > API_MAX_PER_PAGE (100).

• Mutation behavior:
  • Delete commands use buildDeleteCommand().
  • It must inject --yes unless already defined; normally also injects --force, --dry-run, and free aliases -y, -f, -n.
  • noForceFlag, noDryRunFlag, and noNonInteractiveGuard selectively disable behavior.
  • Dry run bypasses the non-interactive guard; commands still own resolved-data confirmation using confirmByTyping() and isConfirmationBypassed().
  • Create commands use DRY_RUN_FLAG and DRY_RUN_ALIASES.
• Formatting/errors:
  • Formatting belongs in src/lib/formatters/<domain>.ts; extract helpers when command files approach 400 lines.
  • Non-trivial human output uses markdown helpers such as mdKvTable(), colorTag(), escapeMarkdownCell(), and renderMarkdown(); do not place raw chalk/muted() in output strings.
  • Errors extend CliError; use EXIT.*. ValidationError = 21, ContextError = 22, ResolutionError = 23.
  • validationError() callers should supply a field to avoid collapsed Sentry fingerprints.
  • Fuzzy suggestions use fuzzyMatch() with at most 5 matches generally; route introspection currently uses MAX_SUGGESTIONS = 3.
  • No silent catches in src/; rethrow, log, or log a suppressed fallback. Command loggers use logger.withTag("command-name").
• API/types/validation:
  • Prefer response types directly from @sentry/api over redundant Valibot schemas in src/types/sentry.ts.
  • validateHexId(value, label) handles 32-character hex IDs with UUID-dash stripping; validateSpanId() handles 16-character span IDs; validateTraceId() wraps validateHexId(). All lowercase output and throw ValidationError.
  • Timestamp sorting uses "date", not "time"; export sort types from API modules, e.g. SpanSortValue from api/traces.ts.
• Test strategy:
  • Preferred order: model-based tests for stateful systems, property-based tests for pure transformations/parsing/validation, then unit tests for trivial or hard-to-express properties.
