User authorized autonomous completion: fix all review/CI findings, run validation and independent review, push, resolve bot comments, monitor CI, and merge without further permission.

• Active blocker/task: authoritative correctness review concluded DO-NOT-MERGE with 3 MUST-FIX defects. No post-review code changes have yet been recorded. Work is at the fail-first-regression stage:
  1. Missing agent-conversation view target is rejected by Stricli before command execution, making the intended ContextError unreachable.
  2. Parent route-group help calls raw formatUsageLine() and ignores canonical customUsage.
  3. Generated website argument tables falsely render all variadic positional arrays as optional.
• Planned narrow fixes:
  • Make only agent-conversation view’s synthetic positional optional; change function argument to target?: string; omission (undefined) throws ContextError, while supplied blank/whitespace goes through fielded ValidationError.
  • Wrap command formatUsageLine() when canonical customUsage exists, so parent route help uses the first custom usage rather than raw positional metadata.
  • Preserve positional kind/variadic metadata in introspection and render array positionals as required <name...> in website argument tables; square brackets remain only for optional tuple entries.
• Planned fail-first tests: real Stricli dispatch with omitted/blank targets, parent conversationRoute.formatHelp() canonical usage, and generated arguments-table coverage for optional tuple [<org>], required tuple <environment>, and required variadic <issue...>.
• Independent review state: security review is no longer required. At 23:24 Sep 9, user questioned its relevance; assistant agreed it was disproportionate and discarded that gate. Multiple background correctness/security agents returned empty output and no tasks survived the restart. The user-provided correctness report at 00:05 Sep 10 is authoritative.
• PR publication: not yet pushed. Contributor branch alicandayan:fix/agent-conversation-reference-syntax was last known at old head bbaa7b3b...; local upstream ref is gone. Publication remains blocked until the three correctness findings are fixed, complete validation passes, and a substantive correctness re-review returns MERGE.

• Latest complete validation applies only to superseded head fc5d50e23:
  • Focused suite: 6 files / 155 tests passed in 13.06s.
  • Typecheck (generate:docs, generate:sdk, tsc --noEmit) passed; SDK discovered exactly 112 commands.

• Separate user directive: on Sep 8 at 22:26, user directed replacing the "latest" magic string with LATEST_EVENT_SENTINEL; separate branch fix/event-view-latest-sentinel was at commit 82f4328af (refactor(event): replace "latest" magic string with LATEST_EVENT_SENTINEL).

Key Decisions

• End-to-end PR ownership: drive PRs through completion—fix all bot/reviewer findings, verify CI, obtain appropriate independent review, and merge only after gates pass. User authorized autonomous execution.
• Review scope correction: a standalone security review was initially treated as mandatory, but at 23:24 Sep 9 the user challenged its relevance. Assistant agreed security review was disproportionate for this documentation/introspection/CI-label patch and retained correctness review as the only independent review gate.
• Immutable-review rule: exact-head reviewers must verify clean worktree, base/head, and patch hash before and after review. Reviews are invalidated by any tree change. This followed a superseded reviewer’s DO-NOT-MERGE when the hash changed from 092bd817... to b2a172a... during review.
• Root cause over hand-edited examples: Stricli command definitions remain the ground truth for command usage and examples. Website and skill output derive from introspected command metadata rather than duplicated Markdown or reverse-parsing generated website pages.
• Original documentation defects:
  1. Tuple positional synthesis ignored optional.
  2. Website examples were handwritten fragments and skill generation reverse-parsed website Markdown.
• Optional/variadic positional invariant, corrected after review:
  • Optional tuple entry → [<name>].
  • Required tuple entry → <name>.
  • Array/variadic positional → established required syntax <name...>, not [<name...>].
  • Introspection must preserve positional kind/variadic metadata so the argument table does not infer semantic optionality from array runtime behavior.
• List vs. view modeling:
  • agent-conversation list has no customUsage; [<org>] is directly inferred from one reusable optional tuple definition.
  • agent-conversation view retains customUsage: ["[<org>/]<conversation-id>"], because one token with an optional slash prefix cannot be represented canonically by ordinary tuple metadata.
  • The raw view positional should become optional only to let omission reach the command’s error hierarchy; canonical docs still describe the semantic requirement.
• Omitted vs. malformed target:
  • Truly omitted target (undefined) → ContextError, exit 22.
  • Supplied blank, whitespace-only, multiple slash, repeated slash, leading/trailing slash, or empty segment → fielded ValidationError, exit 21, field: "conversation-id".
  • Tests must dispatch through Stricli; directly calling viewCommand.loader() is insufficient for parser behavior.
• Canonical native help: storing __primaryUsage is not enough. Since route-group help calls each child’s formatUsageLine(), the local command wrapper must make this hook honor the first customUsage entry. Parent help must contain [<org>/]<conversation-id> and never raw <org/conversation-id>.
• Runtime hint source of truth: list’s POSITIONAL definition supplies both parameters.positional and getPositionalString(POSITIONAL) for its ContextError usage hint, structurally eliminating drift.
• Examples metadata architecture:
  • Structured { description, command } metadata extends command docs.
  • Strip custom metadata before passing docs to Stricli.
  • Attach canonical usage/examples to built commands for introspection.
  • Preserve public CommandInfo.examples: string[].
  • Introspection converts metadata to # ${description}\n${command}.
  • Metadata wins; legacy fragment extraction remains fallback.
  • Website and skill generation share formatCommandExamples().
• Native example ordering: repository examples are appended to native fullDescription as ${command} # ${description} before JSON schema enrichment, keeping JSON-field help last.
• Wrapper typing: buildListCommand, OrgListCommandDocs, and buildDeleteCommand use shared exported CommandDocumentation; narrowed independent types were rejected because they could pass tsx but fail tsc.
• Fragment validation: cmd.examples satisfies subcommand/example coverage; fragments remain for guides, tips, prose, and content not represented in command definitions. Existing ProGuard warning is unrelated.
• Malformed target grammar: conversation IDs never contain /. Target grammar permits zero or one slash: slashless is a conversation ID with organization auto-detection; one slash is org/conversationId; all multiple-slash or empty-segment forms fail before resolution/network calls.
• Fork PR risk workflow: keep scoring and artifact upload for forks, but enable label mutation only when github.event.pull_request.head.repo.full_name == github.repository. A privileged workflow handling untrusted fork code was rejected as unsafe.
• Risk-check interpretation: Score PR risk is explicitly an “Experimental advisory signal only” and is not required by repository rules. Its old failure occurred after successful scoring because a fork-scoped token could not mutate labels.
• Full-suite flake handling: prior SQLite/temp-root failures were not dismissed blindly. Exact failing-file reruns and unchanged complete-suite passes established a pre-existing worker temp-root race.
• Test teardown invariant: useTestConfigDir() must restore the prior SENTRY_CONFIG_DIR and never delete it. test/preload.ts always initializes it, so deletion can break subsequently loaded files/hooks.
• Generated scope: broad skill-reference changes are intentional mechanical corrections where Stricli tuple metadata already says optional: true; no unrelated prose, examples, or flags should change.
• Project-create syntax: platform values must always attach to project names with :. Valid: web:javascript, api:python-django, worker:node, my-new-app:javascript-nextjs. Invalid: my-new-app javascript-nextjs, my-org/my-new-app javascript-nextjs.
• Issue merge semantics: --into always designates an issue participating in the merge as preferred parent. effectiveArgs = flags.into ? [...args, flags.into] : args; duplicate issue IDs are deduplicated. At least two effective issues are required.
• Retained repository constraints:
  • Root uses pnpm@10.11.0, Node >=20.0; execute CLI scripts from packages/cli or via pnpm --filter sentry run <script>.
  • New packages belong in devDependencies; CI enforces check:deps.
  • Commands import buildCommand from ../../lib/command.js, never directly from @stricli/core.
  • Diagnostics use logger; data uses CommandOutput; stderr.write() is banned.
  • CLI errors extend CliError; malformed input uses fielded ValidationError, omitted context uses ContextError, unresolved provided values use ResolutionError.
  • Exception formatting must not throw or add ANSI codes to resulting strings.
  • Non-trivial human output uses Markdown rendering.
  • All command functions built through command.ts are async generators. Non-streaming commands yield one CommandOutput<T>; streaming JSON that needs one parseable document must yield an aggregate rather than pretty-printed chunks. Hints belong only in final CommandReturn, never individual yields.
  • Async functions await promises and use results.
  • Use parseSlashSeparatedArg for standard [<org>/<project>/]<id> forms.
  • Permission-sensitive directories use { recursive: true, mode: 0o700 }.
  • Failed name/title resolution uses fuzzyMatch() with at most 5 candidates.
  • List constants remain LIST_MIN_LIMIT = 1, LIST_DEFAULT_LIMIT = 25, LIST_MAX_LIMIT = 1000; API page max is 100.
  • buildListCommand() injects --fresh, treats first positional as target, conditionally adds cursor/aliases, calls applyFreshFlag(), and applies interceptSubcommand().
  • buildDeleteCommand() injects --yes and conditionally force/dry-run flags and aliases.
  • Long-term knowledge belongs in root .lore.md; skills live under skills/ and synchronize via scripts/sync-skills.mjs.

• Historical origin: invalid agent-conversation examples originated in commit 7cf6483be. Runtime parsing and docs.fullDescription were correct at introduction, but apps/cli-docs/src/fragments/commands/agent-conversation.md added invalid two-token my-org conv-123, and skill generation copied it via generated website Markdown.
• Original PR shape: six files, 45 insertions/10 deletions, manual customUsage, hand-updated generated docs, and tests reading committed Markdown. It corrected visible output but retained multiple authorities.
• packages/cli/src/lib/command.ts:
  • Exports CommandExample with readonly description and command.
  • Exports CommandDocumentation, extending Stricli docs with optional readonly examples.
  • prepareNativeDocs() strips custom metadata before Stricli and appends an Examples: section.
  • attachDocumentationMetadata() retains first customUsage as __primaryUsage, structured examples as __examples.

  • Valid path resolves organization, calls getConversationSpans(org, conversationId) under progress, builds a transcript, sets result.truncated, and yields CommandOutput<TranscriptResult>.
  • Current omission defect: raw tuple placeholder "org/conversation-id" is required at view.ts:99-108; Stricli rejects omission at @stricli/core/dist/index.js:837-848, so ContextError at view.ts:119-121 is unreachable. Existing omission test at view.test.ts:268-274 bypasses parsing via viewCommand.loader(). Real CLI returns Expected argument for org/conversation-id, exit 252, rather than exit 22.
• Current parent-help defect:
  • viewCommand.formatHelp() honors custom usage.

• Malformed-target root cause fixed: old parser split only at first slash and checked only two resulting strings, allowing IDs containing / to reach API calls encoded as %2F. Table-driven tests now cover multiple/repeated slashes and empty segments; focused view tests reached 17/17 after the fix.
• Fragment cleanup: removed all 36 handwritten example lines from apps/cli-docs/src/fragments/commands/agent-conversation.md; source metadata now supplies examples.
• PR-risk workflow fix:
  • .github/workflows/pr-risk.yml runs on pull_request [opened, synchronize, reopened, ready_for_review], non-drafts only.

• Old PR-risk failure evidence: scoring succeeded with final medium, logistic low, rule high, policy guardrail_hybrid_v2, probability 0.004, logistic percentile 26.681, rule percentile 32.764, churn percentile 41.836, and 937 historical rows. Main signals were low_author_file_familiarity and sensitive_patch_semantics; deterministic features were 55 changed lines, 6 files, 5 directories, max relative churn 0.0, author touched-file ratio 0.0, 0 prior bad outcomes, tests changed True, code-without-test-path signal False. It failed only when PATCHing label risk: medium returned GitHub 403 Resource not accessible by integration.
• Repository merge policy: branch-protection endpoint returned 404 Branch not protected; ruleset 12023212 requires only CI Status with integration_id: 15368. Score PR risk is not required. Squash merging is allowed; a separate ruleset 14127630 allows merge, squash, and rebase.
• Test infrastructure facts:
  • test/preload.ts removes/recreates worker-wide TEST_TMP_DIR, creates preload-${process.pid}, and sets SENTRY_CONFIG_DIR.
  • It clears Sentry environment variables, sets a fake auth token, disables telemetry/update checks, and replaces fetch with a fail-closed mock.
  • This shared temp-root lifecycle can race between workers, previously causing SQLite disk I/O error and mkdtemp ENOENT.
  • Passing suites still emit MaxListenersExceededWarning for 11 uncaughtException and 11 unhandledRejection listeners.
  • Vitest 4.1.10 repeatedly warns test.poolOptions was removed.
• Error behavior:
  • ValidationError exit 21; ContextError exit 22; ResolutionError exit 23.
  • Other defined exits: general 1; auth 10–13; config 20; API 30; timeout 31; Seer 40–41.
  • ContextError is intentionally reported for UX telemetry rather than silenced.
  • Search-query parser HTTP 400s containing SEARCH_QUERY_PARSE_MARKER = "Error parsing search query" are converted to user validation at command boundaries.
• Correctness review passes retained: structured examples/wrapper propagation, native example ordering, list’s single source of truth, slash validation and resolution paths, metadata fallback/shared formatting, fragment coverage, hidden-route filtering, generated skill signatures, canonical examples, and fork-risk workflow behavior all passed. Review failed solely on the 3 current MUST-FIX findings.
• Fail-first/property history: original optionality tests failed 3/54 with fast-check seed 1896333510, path "0:1:0:0:1", shrinking 4 times to [[{"placeholder":"","optional":true}]]; expected [<>], received <>. • Superseded full-suite transient: first parser-change run had 440/452 files pass, 9,465 passed, 14 failed, 16 skipped of 9,495, mostly SQLite code 5898/disk I/O and /tmp/sentry-cli-test-w2 ENOENT. Exact 12-file rerun passed 270/270 and unchanged full rerun passed, proving infrastructure flake.
