Always implement requested TUI stories as fixtures under packages/tui/src/feature-plugins/system/storybook, register them in index.tsx, and render the real production component with story-local side effects. Expose meaningful state dimensions through keybindings listed in StoryFooter, add reset when combinations become confusing, and exercise layout stories narrowly and widely with OPENCODE_STORY=<story-id> bun run dev:live.
