Never touch the live Lore environment or database during V2 smoke tests. Use disposable HOME, XDG config/data/state/cache trees, explicit LORE_DB_PATH, gateway URL and unused loopback ports, then remove credentials and stop only disposable processes. Chose full isolation over gateway discovery or default paths because discovery can reuse the live gateway and dataDir() may migrate durable state; invoke the exact Node executable because an isolated HOME can leave Volta without a runtime.
